Our Council Elections were held June 21, 2008. During this
meeting other activities were enjoyed by our members. Please view

In Early
2008 the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma sent representatives to Southern California to
sponsor an event for the "At Large Cherokee Communities". The
"Cherokee Picnic" was held in Long Beach CA. Principal Chief Chad Smith, Deputy Chief
Joe Grayson, Dignitaries from the Cherokee Nation Council, and other
Cherokees from Oklahoma participated.
The Cherokee
Nation helped start and organize the "At Large Communities" and are a
vision of Principal Chief Chad Smith. This brings together Registered Cherokees
living outside of the Nation's boarders throughout the United
States, giving them a link back to the Nation. Thus giving our
members the opportunity to learn more about our Culture, Heritage and
Language.
Our
Membership is not limited to only registered Cherokees. We
have non-registered Cherokees and non-Cherokee members who are
interested in the Cherokee culture and want to learn more. The Photo
Gallery below contains photos taken the day of the picnic. Please enjoy!
