CCIE was honored to serve as the spoon keepers at Sherman Indian High Schools 32th annual pow wow. This years pow wow coordinators requested that CCIE serve the traditional Cherokee hog fry for the meal. Which was complete with Cherokee beans, fry bread, salad, fruit and topped off with assorted cup cakes or cookies for dessert. This was the first time that most of the dancers and volunteers had tasted our traditional meal, that we serve at our annual gatherings. It was a HIT, with several rave reviews along with many requests for seconds and even thirds! In the spirit of Ga-Du-Gi, by serving as the spoon keepers at this annual event is one way that CCIE can support the students at Sherman and to give back for their support of our community. Wado to all of the community members who stepped up and volunteered their time and talents to make this years meal a success. Wado for your support of your community!.
